【项目背景:算力时代的“心脏”亟需恒温净化的守护】

本项目位于宁夏回族自治区。该地区地处我国西北内陆,属温带大陆性气候,全年干旱少雨,日照充足,昼夜温差大,风沙天气较多。这样的气候条件虽为数据中心的自然冷却提供了部分优势,但空气中大量悬浮的沙尘颗粒,却对内部精密设备的稳定运行构成了严峻挑战。

近年来,随着“东数西算”工程的全面启动,宁夏作为国家算力枢纽节点之一,正崛起为我国西部地区重要的数据中心集聚地。大数据中心是承载我国数字化发展与算力未来的核心基础设施,被誉为数字经济的“心脏”。这些中心内部密布着成千上万的服务器、存储设备和网络交换设备,它们在高速运算时会产生巨大的热量。同时,为保证设备稳定运行和延长使用寿命,机房对室内环境有着极其严苛的要求:温度必须常年维持在22℃±2℃的恒定范围,洁净度则需要达到万级甚至千级标准。一旦散热不足或灰尘侵入,轻则导致设备性能下降、运算出错,重则引发宕机,造成不可估量的经济损失和数据安全风险。

该项目机房面积巨大,传统的精密空调系统不仅初投资高昂,且运行能耗惊人。如何在保证温湿度与洁净度要求的前提下,实现高效、节能、稳定的通风降温,成为项目方亟需解决的难题。

3)中效过滤层: 针对直径1-5μm的颗粒物进行深度过滤,这一设计在同类产品中较为少见,有效填补了初效与高效之间的空白,大大减轻了高效滤网的负担。

4)高效过滤层: 作为终极净化层级,针对亚微米级颗粒物(≤0.3μm)进行拦截,能有效吸附过滤PM2.5、花粉、甚至部分病毒细菌,其净化标准可媲美手术室洁净要求,为数据中心核心设备提供了近乎严苛的洁净空气保障。

1)机身工艺: 整机采用不锈钢(SS)材质,可选用304或316不锈钢,具备卓越的耐腐蚀、耐老化、抗风沙能力,皮实耐造,尤其适合西北地区的户外环境,大大延长了设备使用寿命。

SS-EAC series filtering air cooler ventilation and cooling project for a big data center in Ningxia

【 Project Background: The 'heart' of the computing age urgently needs constant temperature purification protection 】

This project is located in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The region is located in the northwest inland of China and has a temperate continental climate. It is dry and rainy throughout the year, with ample sunshine, large temperature differences between day and night, and frequent sandstorms. Although such climatic conditions provide some advantages for natural cooling of data centers, the large amount of suspended sand and dust particles in the air pose a serious challenge to the stable operation of internal precision equipment.

In recent years, with the comprehensive launch of the "East Data West Computing" project, Ningxia, as one of the national computing power hub nodes, is rising to become an important data center cluster in western China. Big data centers are the core infrastructure that carries China's digital development and future computing power, and are known as the "heart" of the digital economy. These centers are densely packed with thousands of servers, storage devices, and network switching equipment, which generate enormous heat during high-speed computing. At the same time, in order to ensure the stable operation of equipment and extend its service life, the computer room has extremely strict requirements for the indoor environment: the temperature must be maintained within a constant range of 22 ℃± 2 ℃ throughout the year, and the cleanliness needs to reach the standard of tens of thousands or even thousands of levels. Once the heat dissipation is insufficient or dust invades, it can lead to a decrease in device performance, calculation errors, or even cause downtime, resulting in incalculable economic losses and data security risks.

The project has a huge computer room area, and traditional precision air conditioning systems not only have high initial investment, but also consume astonishing energy during operation. How to achieve efficient, energy-saving, and stable ventilation and cooling while ensuring temperature, humidity, and cleanliness requirements has become an urgent problem that the project party needs to solve.

Ruifeng Solution: Customized Design, Creating a Clean Respiratory System for the "Heart" of Data

Faced with the pain points of the project, the design team of Ruifeng Environmental Protection Refrigeration did not apply a universal solution, but deeply analyzed multiple key factors: geographical location (strong sandstorms, dry climate), industry characteristics (extremely high requirements for temperature, humidity, and cleanliness), building space (huge computer room area, valuable indoor space), and operating costs (pursuit of long-term energy conservation and efficiency). In the end, we abandoned the traditional approach and innovatively adopted the engineering layout design of "high-power stainless steel filter air cooler (SS-EAC series)+large stainless steel air duct".

The core logic of this design is to separate clean fresh air treatment from efficient space air supply, achieving "centralized outdoor treatment and precise indoor distribution".

Solution analysis: Five core advantages, building a professional cooling system

1. One machine dual-use: a core device that integrates "clean filtration" and "efficient cooling"

The SS-EAC series stainless steel centrifugal air cooler we have chosen is a device that perfectly integrates the functions of "air filtration" and "environmental cooling". Its working principle is to use negative pressure of the fan to sequentially pass outdoor hot air through a multi-layer filtration system, effectively removing dust particles; Subsequently, clean air flows through the high-efficiency wet curtain, and water evaporates and absorbs heat on the wet curtain, achieving isentropic cooling; Finally, the processed clean and cool air is sent into the room by a high-performance centrifugal fan. In the dry climate environment of Ningxia, its cooling effect is particularly significant, with the lowest temperature at the air outlet dropping to 27-28 ℃, fully meeting the needs of auxiliary cooling in the computer room.

2. Four fold purification barrier: calmly cope with the sandstorm environment in the northwest of China

To resist the wind and sand invasion in the northwest, we have designed a customized four stage filtration system for this equipment, which progresses layer by layer to ensure that the air sent into the computer room is clean and flawless:

1) Protective filter: As the first line of defense, it mainly blocks large-sized debris such as sand and stones, dead branches, willow catkins, and garbage debris, protecting subsequent filters and extending their service life.

2) Primary filter: As a pre filtration layer, it efficiently intercepts larger particles with a particle size of ≥ 5 μ m, such as metal shavings, sawdust, dust, fluff, mosquitoes, etc.

3) Medium efficiency filter layer: It deeply filters particles with a diameter of 1-5 μ m. This design is relatively rare in similar products, effectively filling the gap between initial efficiency and high efficiency, greatly reducing the burden on high-efficiency filters.

4) Efficient filtering layer: As the ultimate purification layer, it intercepts submicron particles (≤ 0.3 μ m) and can effectively adsorb and filter PM2.5, pollen, and even some viruses and bacteria. Its purification standards are comparable to the cleanliness requirements of operating rooms, providing almost strict clean air protection for data center core equipment.

3. Product hardcore strength: Craftsmanship and quality, specially designed for harsh working conditions

1) Body technology: The whole machine is made of stainless steel (SS) material, which can be selected from 304 or 316 stainless steel. It has excellent corrosion resistance, aging resistance, and wind and sand resistance. It is sturdy and durable, especially suitable for outdoor environments in the northwest region, greatly extending the service life of the equipment.

2) Cooling core: equipped with 5090 high-quality wet curtain, which has excellent water absorption and hydrophilicity, and high evaporation efficiency. Four sided air intake design maximizes the air intake area and effectively improves cooling efficiency. The measured cooling range can reach 4-8 ℃.

3) Control system: Provides multiple control system options, from basic air switches, convenient LCD controllers to precise variable frequency controllers, to meet customers' management needs for different levels of equipment start stop, timing, wind speed adjustment, etc.

4) Industrial design: The filter layer adopts an insertable design, making it as convenient as a drawer to replace the filter element, without the need for professional tools, greatly reducing the difficulty of daily maintenance and after-sales costs.

5) On demand customization: We provide highly flexible customization services and can customize special models including 304/316 stainless steel material models, explosion-proof air coolers, and copper iron zinc free air coolers according to the special requirements of different scenarios, fully meeting the personalized needs of customers.

4. Duct layout: Scientific airflow organization to achieve "leading air into the room, saving land and improving efficiency"

We use a large stainless steel duct system and cleverly install all the air coolers outdoors. By utilizing the closed flow guiding characteristics of air ducts, the processed high air volume clean cold air is accurately and evenly delivered to various areas in the computer room, achieving perfect airflow organization. This design not only solves the problem of uniform air supply in large areas of space, but also completely moves the refrigeration equipment out of the outdoors, "zero occupation" of valuable indoor computer room area, providing more ample space for server expansion and wiring.

Physically speaking, the air duct system utilizes the principle of "dynamic pressure and static pressure conversion": centrifugal fans generate high-speed airflow (dynamic pressure), which is efficiently converted into static pressure through duct components such as variable diameter and bends, thereby achieving long-distance, large-area, and multi-point uniform air supply.

5. Project effectiveness and value extension

After the implementation of the project, the environment of the data center computer room has been significantly improved: the indoor temperature in summer is stably controlled within the ideal range, the air cleanliness is greatly improved, the equipment failure rate is significantly reduced, and the operational stability is effectively guaranteed. Meanwhile, compared with traditional precision air conditioning, this evaporative cooling solution reduces the comprehensive energy consumption by about 40%, saving customers considerable operating costs.
