Project Background and Challenges

The enterprise is located in the southern part of the Yangtze River Delta industrial belt, which is one of the most active regions in China's economy. This area belongs to a subtropical humid climate with distinct four seasons. The summer is hot and humid, while the winter is wet and cold, which places high demands on ventilation and cooling in industrial workshops. As an important manufacturing base in China, the Yangtze River Delta region has a developed hydraulic industry and requires extremely high stability in the production environment. During the production of hydraulic components (especially metal processing and plastic molding), equipment operation generates a large amount of heat, oil mist, and dust. If they cannot be effectively discharged in a timely manner, it not only affects the physical comfort and work efficiency of frontline employees, but also may have adverse effects on the machining accuracy and operational stability of precision equipment such as hydraulic and stamping due to temperature and humidity fluctuations.

The workshop renovated this time is a typical large-span single-layer building: color steel frame structure, brick walls, insulated color steel tile roof, and equipped with large area glass windows. Its characteristics are large building area, high space, good lighting, but overall sealing is average. Due to the particularity of the production process, the air quality inside the workshop is poor. Fortunately, there are no driving equipment in the workshop, and the top space is spacious and obstacle free, which provides unique conditions for the layout of fixed-point and directional post air supply.

[Scheme Design and Implementation]

Faced with multiple challenges in the workshop, the design team of Ruifeng Environmental Protection Refrigeration conducted in-depth and detailed on-site investigations and comprehensive considerations. We not only analyzed the impact of the unique high temperature and high humidity climate in the Yangtze River Delta region on the internal environment of the workshop, but also fully combined the existing building structure characteristics, production process layout, personnel operation area, and top clearance conditions of the workshop, striving for the accuracy and efficiency of the plan.

Based on the above analysis, we have innovatively proposed a combination scheme of "high air volume centrifugal air cooler+long air duct uniform air supply", which is implemented as follows:

1. Equipment selection and layout: We will install high air volume centrifugal air coolers on the outside of building walls. This design not only completely releases valuable indoor production area, but also utilizes the characteristics of high air pressure and long air supply distance of centrifugal fans to forcefully send fresh air that has been cooled and filtered into the workshop.

2. Airflow organization design: We utilize the open space at the top of the workshop to cleverly hang and install customized long air duct systems. Scientifically distributed air supply outlets are set up on the air duct according to job requirements, delivering cold air accurately and evenly to each operator's work position, forming an effective "job microclimate".

3. System synergy: When the system is running, the continuous injection of fresh air from the air cooler creates a micro positive pressure environment in the workshop. This continuous flow of cool and clean air not only effectively dilutes and disperses the hot air, oil mist, and turbidity generated by the equipment, squeezing them out of windows or gaps, but also greatly improves the comfort of employees. At the same time, it provides a more stable operating environment temperature and humidity for equipment such as hydraulic presses and stamping machines, indirectly ensuring the processing accuracy of products and the service life of equipment.

Flexible adjustment and optimization

The active suction of the negative pressure fan accelerates the discharge of indoor hot and humid air, ensuring fast and thorough air circulation throughout the workshop, and achieving optimal cooling and ventilation effects.
